our lady’s cathedral
Our Lady
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, built in 1924, has a classical basilica plan complete with Romanesque architectural details. ADG Blatt designed a new baptistery to complete the cathedral’s transept that blends closely with the original architecture. In addition, ADG Blatt worked to restore the church to its original grandness, making dramatic changes with improved lighting. All walls and ceilings were cleaned and re-plastered, and stained glass windows were restored and cleaned. Artisans also added intricate painted details using centuries-old techniques.
The congregation did not miss a single mass or wedding during construction, and the project received an award for restoration from the Oklahoma City Historical Preservation and Landmarks Commission.
More recent improvements included expanded parking, expansion of the fellowship hall into a conference center and chapel, and creation of a barrier-free west entry.
