OKLAHOMA CITY (April 14, 2022) -- Today ADG, Oklahoma City’s leading professional architecture, engineering and program management firm announced its merger with Edmond-based Blatt Architects. The merger establishes an organization with 70 years of collective work and residency in two of Oklahoma’s most populous cities, thus expanding the geographic reach of each firm.

“ADG and Blatt Architects have collaborated on some of the most iconic projects in the Oklahoma City metro,” ADG President Tom Wilson said. “This merger brings together two legacy firms that have been in existence for more than 20 years and enjoy a rich history of providing professional services in the creative built environment to both public and private clients throughout the Southwest with a concerted focus on Oklahoma City and Edmond.”

For almost two decades, ADG and Blatt Architects were integral in the successful completion of the First Americans Museum with ADG as the owner’s representative and Blatt Architects as co-prime architect. Additionally, the two firms worked collaboratively on several OKC MAPS projects and are currently collaborating on a City of Norman Public Works master plan.

ADG has called Oklahoma City its home since its inception in 1975 and is proud of the many successful client and agency relationships formed over the course of the past 47 years. ADG works with clients to provide attractive environments for government, education, housing, healthcare, offices and recreation. The firm recently completed design work for the historic First National Center renovation and the iconic Belle Isle Library. Select past notable projects include Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, Dean McGee Eye Institute, the exterior renovation of the Oklahoma State Capitol and program consultant for the MAPS for Kids, MAPS 3 and MAPS 4 programs.

Blatt Architects, previously Hornbeek Blatt Architects, is located in downtown Edmond and was established in 1999. This award-winning architectural firm provides master planning, design and construction administration for a wide range of projects including corporate, government, educational, healthcare, recreational, hospitality and cultural museums. The 21c Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City Community Foundation, Edmond Center Court, Variety Care Britton and the Chad Richison Stadium at the University of Central Oklahoma are a just few noteworthy projects of Blatt Architects.

The merger will add Tony Blatt and Julie Blatt to the current ADG ownership group. Tony, a graduate from Oklahoma State University with a BA in Architecture, worked for HTB and Benham before joining Hornbeek Blatt, where he was a principal for over 20 years. In 2021, Tony acquired ownership, and the Edmond firm was renamed to Blatt Architects, P.C. Tony has been both a committee member and chairperson of the OKC Riverfront Design Review Committee and is currently serving on the Oklahoma City Urban Design Commission, the OKC Downtown Design Review Committee, the OSU Professional Advisory Council and is the chairperson for the OKC Foundation for Architecture.

Julie Blatt, a graduate from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Chemical Engineering, started her engineering career with Conoco-Phillips and later worked for many years as an engineer and project manager for The Benham Companies. Most recently she has served as COO for Blatt Architects and serves as a project manager for many of their projects. Julie also worked for several years in higher education at Oklahoma State University in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology and completed her graduate certification studies at Oklahoma State in the field of Engineering and Technology Management. She serves on several boards and committees including STEAM Engine, Mid-Del Pre-Engineering Advisory Board and the Citizens Participation Committee for the City of Edmond.

The newly combined firm will maintain their current offices, one in downtown Oklahoma City and the other in downtown Edmond.
